The act one version of “Johanna” is the show’s simplest song, and the bright vocals of Nathan Haltiwanger as Anthony Hope…enhance the melody and emphasize the youthfulness of the character.

"[Nathan Haltiwanger] is strong and tender with a voice so solidly under control it's striking. A perfect musical compliment to Cinderella, [Nathan] manages his multiple songs steadily and with complete mastery of his instrument. He is, of course, the handsome prince, but he is also a prince that can really sing...[Nathan] is everything the audience looks for in a charming prince. His delivery is steadfast and consistent, his character strongly supported by soaring musical lines perfectly and securely sung throughout the entire performance."

“And speaking of superb, Nathan Haltiwanger’s Freddy is deserving of the same adjective. I think every person who has ever loved love swooned as he sang, “On the Street Where You Live.” It seemed as though notes flowed effortlessly out of his mouth and into our hearts, our very bones, as he serenaded us with his rich baritone. It was hands-down my favorite performance of that song ever. I might still be swooning, honestly.”

“Mr. Haltiwanger…brought a well-schooled lyric baritone voice, elegant phrasing and legato, beautiful piano tones and tender feeling to the opera's centerpiece arioso, "О Мария, Мария!", for which he earned an ovation. He could, it should be stated for the record, summon an appropriate adjunct snarl to the voice for the character's less admirable moments.”
